Introduction to medical aesthetics

This program is designed to teach students how to perform all modern medical aesthetic treatments on the market. Students, future medical aesthetics technicians, or clinic owners will acquire outstanding skills through our comprehensive program.

Career opportunities following this training are in medical aesthetic and surgical clinics with doctors, dermatologists, and nurses. You can also start your own business and open your own clinic!

What is needed?

At the School of Medical Aesthetics, we offer three courses. Medical Aesthetics, Advanced Medical Aesthetics and Botox and Filler. For each of our courses, we do have prerequisites and qualifications.
If you are interested but do not have all of the qualifications for the course you are looking into, you are still welcome to apply. Contrary to popular belief, it is not required to be a certified esthetician to enroll in this course. However, it is an asset. The qualifications for the Medical Aesthetics course are as follows:

  • High school Diploma or GED;
  • Interest in the field.

In this module, you will learn the difference between aesthetics and medical aesthetics. This module also covers the essentials of an excellent consultation as well as possible contraindications

This module covers the basics of the scientific terms related to skin and hair that you will use on a daily basis as part of the treatments you will be offering in your profession.

You will learn about the uses and intensities of the different types of laser and their effect on the skin. You will become familiar with the scientific language used in the context of treatments with laser equipment.

You will see all the treatment protocols that can be performed with IPL, the conditions that can be treated with IPL as well as the treatments administered with this technology such as permanent hair removal, pigment spot treatment, acne, and photorejuvenation.

You will learn all the types of radiofrequency that exist on the market and their effectiveness, the different treatment protocols such as skin tightening, cellulite treatment, and fat loss.

In this module, you will see all the different types of fractional lasers that exist on the market and their respective intensities. You will also learn the treatment protocols for wrinkles, stretch marks, and scars.

You will learn the protocols and medical ingredients of the different products in the Zo Skin Health line and see how to combine them to treat a wide range of conditions.

This module will teach you how to perform popular medical aesthetic procedures such as dermaplaning, chemical peels, and microneedling.

In the final week of the course, students have the opportunity to apply their learning to real patients. The internship is done under the supervision of the teacher.
