What is rosacea skin ?
Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory skin condition that causes intermittent to permanent redness in the central area of the face (cheeks, nose, lower forehead and chin). This condition caused by an abundance of small dilated blood vessels affects more than three million people in Canada

What can cause rosacea to appear on our skin?
There are several things that can cause rosacea to appear on your skin. Check out the most common below :
Sun exposure
Exposure to UV rays aggravates the symptoms of rosacea. It is recommended to apply a sunscreen with SPF 30 or more, both in summer and winter. This will limit the amplification of the condition
Heredity
Hereditary factors are good indicators of whether or not a person will be affected by rosacea in their lifetime. Family history of rosacea and skin color (lighter skinned people are more likely to be affected) should be considered
Lifestyle
Several other factors can influence the appearance or aggravation of rosacea. These include exposure to extreme temperatures, intense physical effort, stress and the use of medication (specifically, cortisone creams obtained by prescription), as well as smoking.
Use of cosmetic products
As soon as the first symptoms appear, it is important to pay particular attention to the products used on the face. To avoid exacerbating the situation, avoid cosmetics that contain perfume, alcohol, abrasives or other irritating ingredients.
