No one out there has perfect skin. Most people have some sort of blemishes, scarring, fine lines, discoloration or textural issues. Chemical peels are a great treatment option that can address all of these concerns and enhance your skin’s overall appearance. A very common question we get asked is: How often should I get a chemical peel?
What is a Chemical Peel?
A chemical peel is a procedure used to rejuvenate the skin by chemically removing and exfoliating the outer layers of the skin. It recommended to do a series of at least three treatments to see the best results.
What Does a Chemical Peel Do?
Chemical peels can help improve acne scars, fine lines, uneven skin tone, dry skin, and more.
So How Often is Too Often?
A chemical peel causes injury to the skin and face (in a controlled and safe manner, of course!). Getting chemical peels too often does not allow time for proper healing, which can result in more damage to the skin than good. A light peel can be done every four to six weeks, while a stronger peel is best to do every few months. If you are doing a very deep intense peel, you should be extra cautious. Some can be so strong that you should only do one per year. It’s always best to consult with your medical aesthetician or doctor if you are unsure.
How Long Do Chemical Peel Results Last?
Depending on what type of peel you choose.. sometimes you can see results instantly! You will wake up the next day with tighter, smoother and more radiant skin. The results will continue to improve in the next upcoming weeks. How long the results last all depend on the type of peel and how you take care of and maintain your skin.
